Weekend Beer Update

This weekend is rather slow as far as organized events, though perhaps it’s the calm before the storm, as April looks big. Of course there’s never a bad time to check out your local craft brewery, though the weather’s not looking cooperative for patio afternoons. Maybe that’s a sign to fill a growler and curl up at home with a movie.

Saturday 30: In north Denver Oasis Brewery celebrates a year of serving beer with their anniversary party featuring food, live music and of course a20190328_091752_hdr.jpg special tapping.

Saturday 30: Down in DTC Two Penguins Tap & Grill will hold their Hop Wars from 3 – 6 p.m. featuring the Imperial IPA Double Smackdown with beers from six local craft breweries. Get a flight and blind-taste all six, then vote for your favorites. Your vote puts you in the running for prizes, and for extra credit you can try to guess which beer came from which brewery.

Saturday 30: If you’re looking for some cheap (free, really) entertainment, Westfax Brewing Company is holding their free monthly comedy show starting at 8 p.m. Get their early for a seat and enjoy some Westfax beers and the food truck.

Sunday 31: Start your day at 10 a.m. sharp in RINO with Ratio Beerworks’ Cool Beans, Beer & Coffee Festival. Your ticket gets you three different coffees to taste, six beers brewed with coffee and tea, breakfast tacos and doughnuts, and bloody beers. As a bonus you can even keep the commemorative coffee mug. Note: This is a ticketed event.

Sunday 31: Head up to Fort Collins for Odell Brewing Company’s 90 Shilling Day. Centered around all things 90 Shilling, the day will offer up beer discounts, merch, giveaways and live music.

Chain Reaction TaproomSunday 31: Hit up Chain Reaction Brewing Company for some laughs starting at noon, with comedian Jon Ham putting on his 100th show of The One And Only Jon Ham. The day of fun will include a special beer release paired with Good Sugar Baking cookies, music, artists, and screen printing.

Weekend Beer Update

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!  There are plenty of great happy%20memorial%20day%20clipartbeer events happening up and down the front range, and the weather is looking great for patio time. One of my favorite plans involves an active outdoor morning followed by a relaxed afternoon and a few brews!

Friday 25: Another brewery comes to the metro area with the soft open of Burly Brewing Company in Castle Rock.

Friday 25 – Monday 28: Up north, the long weekend lets 4 Noses Brewing Company squeeze in 4 days of 4th anniversary fun including special releases, food, and live music.

20170722_130505_HDRSaturday 26: Get your fix of heavy metal and goat (yeah, that sounds weird) at Black Sky Brewery’s 4th Annual Goat Roast. Goat starts at 2:00, bands at 3:30.

Saturday 26: Hop on up to Golden for Mountain Toad Brewing’s five-year anniversary bash with special tappings, food, bands, and beer & ice cream pairing. With the Saturday forecast of 90+ I think they’re on to something with the ice cream!

Saturday 26: Enjoy the sunny weather and join up with WestFax Brewing Company’s Bikes and Breweries circuit. Participants receive $1 off beers while cycling between Westfax, Joyride Brewing Company, Hogshead Brewery, and Seedstock Brewery and upon completion get a free beer to celebrate. The seven-mile loop starts at noon and will involve both path and street riding.

Saturday 26: Odell Brewing Company rolls out over 40 of their beers including pilot-system brews and barrel-aged offerings at their Small Batch Festival in Ft. Collins. Note: This is a ticketed event.

Saturday 26: Celebrate the one year anniversary of 20170729_142951_HDRGrist Brewing Company’s Grist Lab location in Lone Tree with special beer releases every other hour, a raffle, and prizes.

Sunday 27: Take your last runs for the season and then kick back with brews from over a dozen breweries at Arapahoe Basin’s Festival of the Brewpubs. Having been up last weekend I can say that the snow’s pretty thin and once the afternoon sun gets to work you’ll be ready to call it a day with a bunch of beers and live music.

Sunday 27: The holiday Sunday is a slow one for events but if you fancy a drive and/or sour, head up to Ft. Collins for New Belgium Brewing Company’s 20 Years of Sour Celebration.

Monday 28: Memorial Day brings us Briar Common Brewery’s Summer Crushable Party with the release of four new beers, BBQ, games and prizes.

Weekend Beer Update

It’s a big weekend ahead and there are plenty of reasons to hoist a beer, starting with MLB’s Opening Day and moving right along to Easter and April Fool’s. While the weekend starts off with some modern anniversaries and fests, tradition reigns on Sunday with Easter events. Start planning now for which favorite beers pair best with that Easter ham or lamb!

Friday 30th: Start the weekend right and join Seedstock Brewery for their second anniversary party! They’ll serve up special beer releases, live music, food trucks, giveaways, and a special treat if you come dressed in German attire.

Saturday 31st: Fingers crossed for good weather (forecast is partly sunny & 61) to celebrate Halfpenny Brewing Company’s biergarten opening party. Live music, a food truck, giveaways, and of course bier will help usher in the summer patio season, and for dog-lovers, the patio is also pet-friendly.

Saturday 31st: Quirky, geeky fact: Apparently today is the 90th day of the year, and that has special meaning for Odell Brewing Company. They’ll celebrate all things 90 with 90 Shilling beer and merch specials, and giveaways every 90 minutes.

Saturday 31st: Collaboration Fest rolls into the Colorado Convention Center this afternoon with 100+  beers from over 150 collaborating breweries. Note: This is a ticketed event with both early-entry and general admission tickets available.

Sunday 1st: Tip your hat to tradition and join Briar Common Brewery for Easter brunch starting at 10am with breakfast drinks, good specials, and a prize wheel.

Sunday 1st: For a more interactive Easter, stop by Easter TimeFactotum Brewhouse for an Easter egg hunt. Doors open at noon so you can search out eggs holding prizes for the whole family including candy, and of course free beers!

Sunday 1st: Even more family friendly, Kokopelli Beer Company’s Easter egg hunt starts at 11:45 (sign up required) but get there early for a pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny starting at 11. Kokopelli will also have a coloring contest, fire truck and most importantly beer tappings!
